Goodbye 2012

We have been so blessed in 2012. God gave us a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Scott was able to start a new job that he loves. And I was able to leave my job in order to be a full time mama. We are excited to see what God has in store for us in 2013 and it is our hope that we will get to spend time with family and friends, both near and far. Happy New Year, everyone!!

A Merry Christmas

We had a lot of fun celebrating Benjamin’s first Christmas. It was very busy and we were even a little bit under the weather, but we didn’t let that stop us from enjoying each moment. Benjamin was able to see his great-grandmothers, all of his grandparents, his aunt and uncle, and several great aunts and uncles and cousins. Santa came to visit him everywhere he went and it is safe to say that Benjamin has enough toys and books to keep him busy for awhile! We are so appreciative for all the gifts that everyone gave him and Scott and I. Here are some pictures from all the fun we had.

Baby Dedication

We had Benjamin’s baby dedication on November 25, 2012 at our church, Dunwoody Baptist. This was a special day to take time and make a commitment in front of our family and friends to raise Benjamin in the Christian faith. Scott and I wrote a special blessing for Benjamin that the minister read to him:

“Dear Benjamin, it is our prayer that you will trust The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all you do, seek His will and He will show you which path to take. We love you so much!”

Catching Up

I can’t believe it has been SO long since I last blogged!! I guess it’s time to play catch up. I wanted to jot a few things down, mainly so I don’t forget! Hopefully in 2013 I will do much better about updating the blog. That is definitely one of my New Years resolutions!

Benjamin is busy, busy, busy!! To give you an idea of how big he is getting, at 6 months he weighed 17.5 lbs and was 28 inches long (50th percentile for weight, 90th percentile for height). At his 9 month appointment he weighed 22 lbs, 5 oz and was 31 inches long (75th percentile for weight and over 97th percentile for height). We can’t believe he has grown 10 inches since he was born! He is almost 10 months old and it is hard to believe how fast time flies. Some important milestones include: sitting up (6 months), sitting up unassisted from laying down (7 months), crawling (just shy of 9 months), pulling up and standing (9 months), first tooth (9.5 months). He loves to eat anything we give him, especially Cheerios, puffs and shredded cheese. I’ve been trying to introduce a cup to him but he hasn’t been too interested in it. We will keep trying! He still loves to play with his Chick-fil-a cow and likes to be read to. He also really loves music and we enjoy going to Kindermusik class every week. He will clap his hands if you say “yay!” and plays patty cake. He says mama, dada, uh oh and a lot of other sounds. He keeps me on my toes and I’m exhausted at the end of everyday! But I adore being with him and as far as I’m concerned it is the best job in the whole world!
Sorry for such a long post, I just wanted to record all these things before I forget. I’m going to include some pictures from the last few months. Enjoy!!
