Last weekend, I had the honor of helping out with a baby shower for my sweet friend, Rebecca (aka “Turtle”). I met “Turtle” when I visited Brenau University during my senior year of high school. When I started Brenau as a freshman, we became friends and sorority sisters. Another sorority sister gave her the nickname “Turtle” and it stuck 🙂 She is a true friend and I love her so much!
She is expecting a baby girl in July and we couldn’t be happier for her and her husband, Tim. Hard to believe we met almost 13 years ago and now we are both Mamas! Here are some pictures from her shower with some sweet friends.
Baby Shower Fun
Quack Quack
Benjamin was so excited that Mama Duck and her ten new babies came to visit us, right at our front door! Later that day we saw them again while we were taking a walk. Benjamin wanted to touch the babies so bad! But, Mama Duck was guarding them pretty closely so we kept our distance. Now we have so much fun looking for the ducks when we go outside!
Mother’s Day
I am way behind on blogging! I had the perfect Mother’s Day this year. We went to church, then out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory (as Benjamin would say, “Yum!”) and then relaxed for the rest of the day. I feel so blessed to be a Mom 🙂
Meg’s Baby Shower
This past weekend I helped host a baby shower for my sister-in-law Meg along with her sister Katie and her cousin Anna. I was so excited to give Meg and my future niece a shower! We can’t to meet sweet baby King this summer. Meg looked beautiful and got so many nice things for the baby. We asked everyone to bring a children’s book and it was so neat to see all of the sweet books that everyone brought. You can never have too many books! Baby King should have a nice library to start off with. Here are some pictures that I took during the shower. I can’t wait until I can post pictures of the baby!!

Hoarding: Buried Alive
Have y’all seen those tv shows about hoarders? I am the first to admit that I’m not the best housekeeper but usually when I watch that show I feel better about my cleaning skills! Lately, Benjamin enjoys pulling every toy and book out of his toy bins and piling them up on top of me. If you look closely you might see me buried under all that stuff, haha!!
Easter Weekend
The day before Easter we went to a family breakfast at our church. It was fun to see all the sweet kids and their parents. The children got to sing songs and listen to the Easter story. Benjamin was a little young to sit and listen but hopefully we can keep going to this and make it a family tradition. The weather was beautiful that day so we decided to go ahead and put Benjamin in his Easter suit and take some pictures at our church. I’m so glad we did because the poor guy woke up on Easter morning with a fever and a cold so that meant no church for us! Thankfully he is much better now and we are having so much fun playing outside now that Spring is here.
Over the river and through the woods…
…to great-grandmother’s house we went! Ok, so it’s not really over the river and though the woods, more like down I-75 through Atlanta. When my parents were here recently, we went to visit my grandmothers. They enjoyed seeing Benjamin and he loved showing them how he can walk everywhere! Here are some pictures from our visit.
A Walk in the Park
This past weekend the weather was perfect so we headed over to the nature center to play and get some fresh air. Benjamin tried sliding down the slide for the first time (with some help from Mom and Dad) and he loved it!! It was nice to get a taste of Spring. We can’t wait to spend more time outside as the weather gets warmer!
Don’t know why Benjamin looks so serious here but I swear he was having a good time!
Like Father, Like Son
I hope he grows up to be as kind, sweet, loyal and funny as his Daddy. I think he’s already well on his way! I love these two so, so much!
Happy Birthday, Uncle Spencer!
We are so happy we got to spend time with Aunt Meg and Uncle Spencer on his birthday today. We love you!
